This process of discovery---of ourselves, our views, and our ideas about others--began by asking each other questions and telling stories about our lives. We reflected on our childhoods, our beliefs, and our experiences. We spoke honestly in front of the camera in the hope that if we continued our discussion we would find a sense of harmony in our ideas about ourselves and others. In our first year, 2003-2004, we recorded seven hours of interviews on a broad range of topics relating to racism. Several different editors have tried to make sense of the ideas, and each has interpreted the footage differently--as diverse as the ideas originally expressed.
