and Achievements 2003-2004 Linzi
Silverman ('06) and Thomas Schuster ('06) Kenny Cosgrove ('06)
and Keith Hayes ('05) are recipients of the Exemplary Arts Award
for the New York State Media
Arts Teachers Association, Lower Hudson Valley Region. Their work will be
screened on March 16th, at the regional show at Westchester Community College. "Secret
Agent" by Thomas Schuster ('06) and "The Truth About Domestic
Violence" by Carly Wolff ('06) and Laura Caccavo ('06) will be shown at
the Urban Visionaries Film Festival
in Manhattan from March 24-26 at the Museum of
Television and Radio.
Michael Goetz
(’07) has distributed his work “Don’t Do Drugs: This Could be You” to Home,
Inc. in Boston, MA. His work is also featured on the site Youth Media
Distribution- http://www.YMDi.org.
Carol
Kuruvilla
(’07) wrote “A Shepard’s Play,” which was performed at CSI
Congregation of Hudson Valley in White Plains, NY. Her play was also taped for
broadcast, and aired on Asianet TV for an international audience in
sixty countries. Jane Mason (’07) also worked on the
project.

for his public service announcement “Cyberstalking”. Carly Wolff
(’06) and Laura Caccavo (’06) have also listed their work
“The Truth about Domestic Violence” on the site as part of this national

Corey Jacobs
(’06) has been chosen to be a part of a P.O.V. Youth Views, a
peer-led youth initiative promoting media in local communities. Corey will
serve on this committee for a year, and residents of Clarkstown and Rockland
County are encouraged to contact Corey for a list of P.O.V. programs he can

Danielle DeLay
(’06) will continue to film “The
Sidelines” on location in Rockland County this fall. (She wrote two
screenplays and a stage play last year.) The crew and cast include Corey
Jacobs (’06), producer and lighting; Linzi Silverman, camera; Carly
Wolff, sound; Joe McCarthy (’05), actor; Danielle DeLay,
director, actor.
Thomas Schuster
(’06) screened his excellent
animation, “Swordfight,” at the Woodstock Film Festival on September
21st. Another animation, “Secret Agent,” is under consideration
at festivals around the country.
Dan Mann
(’07) won the intermediate division for
the New York State Archives contest. He will be awarded a cash prize in Albany
this fall.
Laura Caccavo
(’06) won the senior division for
the New York State Archives contest. She will be awarded a cash prize in Albany
this fall.
Linzi Silverman
(’06) screened “Sisters,” a nightmarish film about jealousy and its
consequences, on September 13th and 14th at CinemaKids
in Austin, Texas and is currently under consideration at festivals
around the country. Also, congratulations to Thomas Schuster (’06) who
created an original score for the film!
Carly Wolff
(’06) and Laura Caccavo (’06)
will show “The Truth About Domestic Violence,” a documentary film
informing us of the facts about domestic violence at the Palisades Mall as part of an evening event sponsored by
Rockland
Family Shelter. It will play on video kiosks throughout the day as part of the
awareness campaign. Their video is also a finalist at the Flying Popcorn Film
Festival in Rhode Island, and is currently under consideration at
festivals around the country.

(’06) and Laura Caccavo (’06)
have been invited by Emmy-Award winning writer/producer Gary Cohen to
attend a weekend seminar sponsored by the graduate film program at City College/CCNY
on October 4th and 5th.

won 4th place in the National History Day Senior Individual Documentary category and the
Holocaust History Award. She also won 1st place in the New York State Contest for her
video about rights and responsibilities.

Derasmo, writer of the award-winning
stage play “Absentees,” had his work adapted for the screen by Fledgling

Prize for their work on the Japanese-language video produced for Mrs.
Uchiyama’s class. Congratulations to all for winning this competition for the
third consecutive year.
Jacqueline
Jedlicka interned
for PBS/"In the Mix" at CastleWorks, Inc. in
NYC over the summer, and she worked as a camera person and production assistant on several programs The
show “The New Normal: Get the News?” received a 2002 CINE Golden Eagle
