Photos of the Lunar Eclipse October 27, 2004

When the sun, Earth and moon are exactly lined up, a lunar eclipse happens. The Earth blocks off the sunlight that usually lights up the moon. The moon has a reddish glow. "Lunar" comes from "Luna", the Latin word for moon. A lunar eclipse can last up to three and one-half hours.

Special thanks to Mr. Lengel, a 5th grade parent, for taking the photos.
