INTRODUCTION
|
After
Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt and the US
Congress joined the Allied Powers and declared war on
the Axis countries of Japan, Germany and Italy. This event changed the
lives of everyone living in the United States. Winning the war depended
not only on military victories overseas but also on mobilizing the home
front to support and supply the armed forces.
You
are a secret agent, an enemy spy, sent to America by the Axis powers to uncover
what the United States is doing to mobilize all its resources for war. You
must determine what Americans are doing to support their service men
fighting the enemy in Europe and Asia and witness how the war effects
people’s everyday lives. You must report your findings to your superior,
General Axel Powers, so he can judge if America will be able to defeat the
Axis countries.
