Arnold Turns On The Colonies
By Naji
We all know Benedict Arnold as a patriot officer, but we were all wrong. At the battle of Saratoga, Arnold was an amazing officer, and then he’s a traitor that gives plans of West Point's defenses to a scum called Major John Andre, a British officer from the Revolutionary War. Joshua Hett Smith was involved in this plot because he allowed Major John Andre and Benedict Arnold to use his house to talk about the treason plans. While Andre was returning to the British side, the patriots captured Major John Andre and found the plans of West Point in his boot the interesting thing that the Patriots found out about the plans was that the plans were coded in numbers. In September of 1780, Major John Andre was put on trial at the Old Dutch Church in Tappan and was found guilty of all charges. During the trial, he was held prisoner in the 1776 House. Andre's sentence was he had to get hung at the age of 30! You know colonists, if Major John Andre wasn’t caught with the plans of West Point, he would have snuck back to the British Army and told them of the weaknesses at the West Point fort. That would have been a disaster! Benedict Arnold snuck off to the British side and helped them in the Revolution. This article shows all of you reading this that you can’t trust anyone in the Battle of Revolution!
