"At the reading centers, children can practice reading skills on their own. They develop concepts about print, reading practice, enjoyment and making personal connections with books."

At Read Aloud Mrs Cohen Reads to us as a class.
Mrs Cohen Says
"Using big books and poetry the children read with me as I read and point to each word. I demonstrate and teach reading strategies such as, the use of semantic cues( use of information from own background and experiences), syntactic cues ( use of structures and patterns of language) and grapho-phonic cues (the look and sound of letters and words).
The children will respond to the literature in a variety of ways. At the Work/Play Centers you can see the children responding to literature in their: art, drama and story extensions.
