Tyrannosaurus Rex

    Tyrannosaurus Rex is a dinosaur.  Its nickname is Tyrant Lizard King.  Its size was 12-40 feet long.  He weighed 5 – 7 tons.  He had sharp teeth, short arms, long legs, and was very tall.  His teeth were 9 inches long.  T-Rex ate meat and was a carnivore.  T-Rex was extinct by the 2^nd half of the Cretaceous Period and protected itself by using his stiff-pointed tail, claws and sharp teeth.  He probably lived in open forests with nearby rivers and lived on land.  Fossils have been found in western North America and East-Central Asia.  Did you know T-Rex could run at a speed of 20 miles per hour?  Did you also know T-Rex ate other dinosaurs and had huge jaws?  Tyrannosaurus Rex is a great dinosaur!
