 Introduction

Becoming an Illustrator!

        You are here to begin the new project in Art: a journey into the world of commercial art.  You will be an illustrator/author for this last project, creating a sentence which will then be illustrated using any medium you choose: watercolor, pastels, crayons, scratchboard, ink…

Enjoy the ride as you enter the world of illustration!

The Task

        For this project, you will be creating an illustration of your own, after writing a sentence in class later in the project.  We are launching the project during this quest for information on two illustrators – one whom we will use as a starting point for our own illustrations, and the other who will be visiting us at school to help us understand how an illustrator works.  Here in the Computer Lab you will complete a worksheet with answers that can be found here on the Web.

The Process

1.    You are going to visit websites about illustrators connected with our project.  While visiting these sites, you must find the answers to the questions in the worksheets.

2.    All of your information must be neatly written on the sheet and handed in to be graded.

3.    Any work not completed in the Computer lab must be finished for HW and handed in tomorrow.

What You Want to Know About Grades!

A = 11-12

B = 9-10

C = 6-8

D = 3-5

F = 0-2 (or not completed)

Your rubric for this project is attached to the worksheet.
