If you have a shortcut for PowerPoint on the desktop of your machine, double click on it to start PowerPoint

If you do not have a shortcut on the desktop,Click the Start button in the lower-left hand corner.On the start menu position the insertion point on Programs then click Microsoft PowerPoint.

This is the first screen you will see when you open the PowerPoint Program

Click blank presentation and then click OK
( The next time, and every other time, you want to use the presentation you create today, click open an existing presentation)
The next screen you will see looks like this
Click the new slide template that you see highlighted here once, and then click OK

Before you add a title, you need to select a font.Point to the down arrow next to the box that says Times New Roman Click your left mouse button. A dropdown menu will appear. While continuing to hold down the mouse button drag the mouse down to highlight Arial and click. Slide your mouse over to the down arrow next to 24 and click. Click on the down arrow inside the scroll bar that appears until you see 72 appear. Click on 72. Next slide your mouse to the right until it is over the letter B and click. This will make your title big and bold.
Click inside the box that says, Click to add title and type in your title. When you have finished your title click anywhere on the slide outside the box. The box will disappear.
Adding color- Click once over your new title. The box reappears. The box means you have selected whatever is inside the box. ( this is also how you later change [edit] your slide). With the box selected, slide the mouse down until the pointer is over the down arrow next to the paint can. Click on the down arrow. Select by clicking on one of the colors you see or click on More fill colors. The box that has your title will change color to the one you selected. Click outside the title box to see what you created.

To create a text box, move your mouse until your pointer is over the icon for text box. It is the one immediately to the right of the oval shape at the bottom of your slide. Now click once. Slide the pointer under your title and on the upper left side of the slide. Click and hold down your left mouse button while you drag down toward the lower right corner of your slide. Stop when the box you are creating fills most of the left side of your slide. Release the left mouse button when the box is the size and shape you want. Using the same steps you used to select the font for your title, change the font to baloonxBdBT size 24. Type in the text you want to appear on this slide. Remember- in PowerPoint LESS IS DEFINITELY MORE when it comes to text.When you have entered your text, you can fill the text box with a color if you want.You do that the same way you did with the title box. When you are finished,click outside the box and the box will disappear. Editing text in PowerPoint is the same as in Word.

To insert clipart slide your mouse to the standard toolbar at the top of your slide until the pointer is over cartoon character of a man. Click once to get into the clipart gallery.Use the scroll bar to find the picture you want click it once and then click insert.Your picture will appear on your slide.

You have created a PowerPoint slide. Congratulations!
Saving and retrieving your PowerPoint Presentation.
From the toolbar select File, & Save as.
Use the dropdown menu to select the A drive.
Type a file name in the box and click Save.
When you want to use this presentation again, start PowerPoint as we did before, with your disc in the A drive. This time you will click once on Open an existing Presentation. Then click OK. The next screen will say Look in select the A drive from the pull down Menu. Where it says file name type the name you used to save your presentation and click Open. Your presentation will open.
