Task

Picture courtesy of the Smithsonian Institute The picture in the introduction is a Clovis point.  It is a stone spear tip used by Paleo-Indians who lived more than 10,000 years ago.  When archaeologists find them they provide proof that there were Native Americans living in the area more than 10,000 years ago.  This is called a artifact (something made by people) and is a primary source (something giving firsthand testimony or direct evidence concerning a topic under investigation) of information about Native Americans.

Today in library computer lab you will search for Clovis points on the Internet.  Try to find some in New York State. When you are ready go to the process.
