Not all the information on the internet is accurate! Look for websites by groups you recognize, for instance the CIA or a historical society. Here are some librarian recommended sites:
American Revolution Pathfinder:
A pathfinder is a guide to research resources usually compiled by a teacher or librarian. Click on "Web Links" at the top of the page, then scroll down to "Individual Biographies" for great websites.
The American Revolution Homepage:
Look for biographies under Founding Fathers, American Patriots, British Generals, and scroll down for women of the American Revolution.
Biographies of several people on list including Deborah Sampson, Crispus Attucks, George Washington, etc.
