John Sigilito 1974

Three-year varsity football player. Voted by coaches as the Orange and Rockland 1973 Offensive Back of the Year. First team Orange and Rockland County in 1973. First team All-Rockland County in 1973 & 1974. Led Rockland in scoring with 74 points. Led the county in rushing with 1,084 yards and averaged 6.1 yards per carry with 176 attempts. Lettered in football at Harvard University for four years. In his senior year he received the Robert F. Kennedy Award, given to students for dedication, determination and willingness to work hard

 

Andrei Rodzianko 1995

Most wins in a season for Clarkstown South with 38. Was 38-2 in 1995. He is third all-time in career wins. He was a three-time Rockland County and Division champion. Sectional Champion and 3rd place in New York State. Three-time All-League, County and Section. All- State in 1995. Journal News Scholar Athlete and member of the National Honor Society. Multiple winner of the Shoreline, Pearl River, Cobleskill, Port Jervis, Westlake and Somers tournaments. First Team All-County, All-League and All-Section in Football and Lacrosse. Attended University of Pennsylvania. Lettered in Wrestling four years. Academic All-American, three-time Ivy League Champion, two-time Eastern Champion, NCAA All-American in 1999. Ivy League Wrestler of the Year. Currently attending graduate studies at Dartmouth University.

 

Jodi Schlesinger 1999

A member of the varsity track team as a seventh grader. Earned 10 varsity letters as a triple and long jumper. Three time National Scholastic Champion in the triple jump. Two-time National Junior Olympic Champion. Seven time New York State Champion. Ranked as the number two jumper in the country her senior year. Finished first at Loucks Games (3x), League Champion (17x), Rockland County Champion (14x), Class A Champion (13x) and Section 1 Champion (9x). Won seventy-five meet championships. Holds three national records and five New York state records. Named to New York Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, Schults Ford Athlete of The Season, Journal News Athlete of the Year, Journal News Most Valuable Track and Field Performer of the Season (5x), All Section and County (10x). Full Scholarship to Duke University. Holds the record for Duke’s indoor and outdoor triple jump. NCAA All- East Team (2x). Graduated from Clarkstown South as the valedictorian and from Duke as Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2003.

 

 

1978 Football Team

Team was 8-0 in league play and Rockland County Champions. They were 8-1 overall losing to Bergen Catholic. Bergen Catholic was ranked as the #1 team in the state of New Jersey and the New Jersey State Catholic High School Champions. The 1978 Clarkstwon High School South scored a total of 203 points and only allowed  59  for the entire season. The team featured the Rockland County Defensive Player of the Year, four All-Rockland 1st team offensive players, two 2nd team All Rockland players. Five players were named to the All Rockland team for Defense and one on the 2nd team. There were also six Orange and Rockland All-Stars on the 1st team and two on the 2nd team. Five players made All-State on the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 7th teams.
