Unfortunately, an incident during filming caused him to be sidelined for several games . . . During a night scene shot in Valley Cottage, one of the thousands of bugs drawn by the bright movie lights dared to bite the home run king on the right arm.  The bite later became infected and had to be lanced.” P.85
