Lederle Laboratories

Many events occurred at the turn of the 20th century. Engineering, medical and manufacturing breakthroughs were prevalent in Rockland County. Many not originating in the county have ties to local establishments and significant historical events.

Lederle Laboratories originated in New York City in 1906. Moved to Pearl River and became the largest biological laboratory in the world.  Today the company is called Wyeth-Lederle. Their primary focus is pharmaceuticals and vaccines.
