eYukonQuest Overview

Note that the front-runners of the YukonQuest will arrive in Fairbanks during Clarkstown's winter break;   Mr. Frerichs will be in Fairbanks to photograph the finishers.

Sunday, February 13, 2005, Yukon Quest begins at 1 p.m. in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada.  Finishers will arrive in Fairbanks from Feb. 22 to Feb. 28.

Students will 

• read literature abut sled dogs and view videos about the race.

• study the trail and make a map of it.

• read musher profiles and select a musher to follow in this year's race

• track the selected musher's progress for the first week of the race.  (During winter break some students may want to follow the race from home.)

• follow the results of the race upon return from winter break.

• receive an official 2005 eYukonquest class certificate for completion of the trail!
